Gate III · Fruits · Day 18 of 35
Praise, held loosely
The teaching
Deflecting a compliment refuses it; storing one makes it property you will need to defend. There is a third option: receive it, thank the person, and let it pass through.
Today’s practice
When you are complimented today, say thank you. Nothing more — no deflection, no return compliment, no explanation.
Sit with this
Which was harder, refusing it or not keeping it?
